Most of the time, we run our farm with just the two of us – Martin and Jackie Beard. We came to farming late despite both having been around farming when we were growing up. My first summer job was on a Fruit Farm, selling pick your own strawberries. That farm also housed commercial pig units and broiler chickens, and at the time was pretty radical turning land over to fruit! Fast forward thirty years and here we are being radical turning arable land back to livestock!
We have two children who are still studying full time, but they help us out when they can – hopefully when there is some heavy lifting to be done!
We have had great help from people around us, and are proud to be part of the Angus food scene!
