After last week, anything is an improvement. Fortunately, our OSB sow continued her recovery, the fox stayed away and our son returned home to look after the place, so we were able to travel down to the Great Yorkshire Show. The Yorkshire has a fantastic array of Pig classes, and this year was no exception. We missed the Oxford Sandy & Blacks because there were not enough entries, but there were Large Blacks, lots of Saddlebacks, some great Gloucestershire Old Spots and lots more traditional and modern breeds. We met up with some familiar faces and, even though it howled down on Tuesday, had a great time.

A visit to the cattle lines was great as we met up with the exhibitors in the British White Cattle section. We got some great advice which we really need!

And then on to the machinery and equipment, where we are looking for cattle handling systems and pig handling and weighing.

All in all, great fun! But then back to the real business of sourcing new hens which we are getting from the fantastic Craigievern poultry  so we can get back to our egg run!
